This year is the 20th anniversary of Intertraffic Amsterdam. Over 800 exhibitors from more than 40 countries – with virtually the entire top 50 global concerns in attendance – will show a comprehensive overview of the latest industry trends and developments. Intertraffic 2010 offers an even wider range of categories so as to ensure the most convenient segmentation possible for visitors.

Prismo’s stand is situated in Hall 1, stand 410. Our stand design has been developed with maximum focus on demonstrating our extensive range of road markings and traffic products. Customers will be able to get up close to a wide range of products which have been laid on to the stand floor itself. Products that have been laid include examples of anti skid decorative coverings and preformed thermoplastic, as well as a large selection of white lining solutions

The stand also incorporates a ‘Wet Night Visibility’ room, designed to demonstrate the incredible performance of Primso’s Colourbright and Rainline products in wet conditions.

High Friction Surfacing in Southern Ireland

The most recent trial approved by the The National Roads Authority of Ireland (NRA) was on a very busy main road near Dublin which had seen 21 fatalities over the last 3 years. A significant contributing factor was a steep downhill section of Asphalt road approaching a junction where, particularly in wet conditions and heavy traffic, vehicles were unable to stop quickly enough.

Tyregrip was specified and, to allow for the incline and prevent loss of Epoxy on such a steep slope, cellulose fibres were also recommended and added to the Epoxy mix.
This worked well and in very difficult traffic management conditions the 2000m2 downhill to the junction was completed over a two-day period in September and the NRA has already suggested that if it proves a success Tyregrip will be specified for the entire region.

imprint in shared space

Planners are considering ‘shared space’ as a new approach to road safety in town and city centres – a concept entailing the removal of kerb stones, barriers and traffic lights so that drivers have to make eye contact with pedestrians before proceeding.

An ideal application for such a busy road would be Prismo’s revolutionary road surfacing treatment, Imprint. The aesthetically appealing Imprint is up to 40% more cost-effective than traditional block paving techniques, is very safe and virtually maintenance-free – ruling out the risk of trip hazards and damage claims and eradicating weed infestation problems.

Open Day Opens Eyes!

Prismo’s now established annual Open Day took place at the beginning of June at Prismo Traffic Products premises in Midsomer Norton, near Bath.

The event proved a great success and even the sun shone on the many invited guests, who included personnel from local authorities, contractors and builders merchants.
Among the products demonstrated were „Coloursafe anti-slip surface coating, REphalt permanent pothole repair, Flexiline preformed thermoplastic, Stonegrip decorative surfacing, Ecodyn mobile road marking assessment system, Bee Bump sleeping policemen and LineLazer airless line marking machines.

A great deal of interest was generated in the Prismo Traffic Products range, particularly in the “hands on” demonstrations.

A spokesman for Prismo commented “The open day allows various products to be physically demonstrated and for guests to witness, first hand, how they are applied and what the material looks like after installation. Given the reaction of the guests, we’re already making arrangements for next year’s event. The LineLazer machine used for the demonstration was bought right there, on the day!”
